Disk upgrade question
Im upgrading my 69 panel to six-lug disk with dropped spindles and springs. I recently read on one of the threads where someone thought that it pushed the front wheels out an extra one or two inches. Does anyone have the exact extra width they get pushed out. I was planning on running 8 in. rims on the front with a drop that has the tires tucked up in the wheel wells. Im not 100% sure on tire size yet, probably 215/75/15. Im thinking of running redlines and this is the largest size I can find in this style.

Re: Disk upgrade question
I have been trying to investigate this issue as well. I talked with a fella from Old Classic Wheel co.. They advertise in Classic Trucks Magazine. I can't recall the exact width difference , either 1 inch either side for a total of 2" greater width up front. Or its a total of 1" total wider. I would give him a call. He was very helpful. I think you can make up the difference in overall width by using a different back spcacing on one or the other wheels. I'll try to get with him tommorrow as well cause I'm putting discs on the front of my 68 that has a 6 lug rear. The 5 lug rears are wider.
Let me know. |
