Closer to complete
Here are some pics of my K5. I will post some newer pics of the paint soon. This is where most of the blood, sweat, and tears went.

Re: Closer to complete
Pics like that make me cringe. Good work. One day late next year hopefully I will be doing the same thing (sick thing to wish for I know).

Re: Closer to complete
i have a question...does the inner rocker, either the panel that you can buy or the section that's part of the floor pan, get welded to the outter rocker or does it just butt up against it really tight?

Re: Closer to complete
I just butted them up right about where the door sill plate goes, but they end at the same place so I welded them where they met. Its kinda underneath, where the rocker meets the gravel pan.

Re: Closer to complete
What type of weld joint did you use on your floor pans? Butt? Overlap? Flanged?

Re: Closer to complete
On the floor pans I overlapped the panals for a little bit of added strength. I figured it is going to be under the carpet anyway, and I also did not want to deal with warping.

Re: Closer to complete
Nice work! How much overlap did you use? 1/8"? 1/4"?

Re: Closer to complete
Probably about a quarter or so. What I would do is trim the new floor piece roughly to the size I needed (they come pretty big), then cut out the exsisting floor roughly to size. By doing that you can kinda fit in the new panel and trace it on your old floor and then do the final trimming and grinding.
