HELP!!! Problem with plug wires!
I was replacing the plug wires on my 307 when I came to the 2 in the front and found that they were between the motor mount and the motor. I tried pushing them out but they wouldn't go, and I didn't want to have to shove my new ones through like that. So whats the deal!!! I broke one of them trying to push it out so now that cylinder won't fire if I need to run it. Any suggestions other than having to loosen the motor mount to get it out?

Cut the wires and put 2 new ones in (the right way) Simplest way I can think of.

Yes but what is the right way. If they were like this wouldn't that mean this is the stock set up?
A description or pic of "the right way" would be nice.

Re: HELP!!! Problem with plug wires!
mine did the same thing...I cut them out but haven't put a new set in yet. I plan on running down the back of the motor and under the ramhorns, just outside the mounts instead of up through them. You could buy a "universal" set and thread them back through the mounts, then install the clips and boots.
Or you could just remove the ends off your new set and do the same. Last edited by msgross; 12-12-2006 at 11:24 PM. |

Re: HELP!!! Problem with plug wires!
Mine were the same way on my 350. It kind of bothered me having them go through the motor mounts so I ran them to the outside of the ramhorns. I will be looking for some harnesses to use or run them up above the ramhorns, not exactly sure what I am going to do yet.

Re: HELP!!! Problem with plug wires!
Can't really do above the ramhorns, I tried. They have to arch pretty far to clear them. Best bet is under....
