Need some Info!

Does anyone Know if you can inter change the axels on the 69-72 trucks? Meaning I have a 5 and also a 6 lug can these axels be interchanged?

The axle lengths are different on some. I believe the mid 69 to 72 are the same, and the 67-mid 69 are the same . I could be wrong, i'm sure someone else will chime in to correct me....

I think centless has it right. The axle shafts are different lenghts. You can exchange the whole assembly. Remember that some axles are coil spring and others are leaf. This would be a different kettle of fish.

Axle lengths changed during the '70 model year to the longer ones.

You can use the 5 lug axles as they say in the older 67-69 axle housing and go get drums for a 74-87 chevy truck with 11-5/32 brakes. The drum is 3/4" wider than stock and will work fine with the existing brakes,ie 2" brakes. I will go get a link for a thread on this modification.
