'70 C20 w/dual rear wheels
Looking at this truck, dual wheels were installed as a dealer option per owner. Anyone have any info on this? Thanks in advance.

Re: '70 C20 w/dual rear wheels
I am real curious about this one???? More info is definetly in order. I have a truck with a Dana 60 rear that I would love to convert to duals, but I have been under the impression that the "Dually" aaxles are of a different breed in the Danas. Maybe it is as simple as changing out the hub assemblys and spindles and brakes from say a 1 ton or something. I would love to know more about this conversion or dealer add on as they are telling you.
Thanks |

Re: '70 C20 w/dual rear wheels
"It's my understanding that the dually, in 1970, was a dealer option and not a factory option. - just like the auxiliary fuel tank. Don't take that as gospel, but I believe that to be the case. As you can see, the outside wheels are not an inside/out configuration like today's duallys. A cylindrical spacer was used to separate the inside wheel from the outside wheel. Interesting how they did it back then." This is what the seller haad to say concerning the dually's.

I bought a 68 C-30 wrecker last month and it had on the spid.......... dually conversion. The dual wheels stick out past the cab about 6 inches on either side.
