What a survivor?

Check out this C20 listed on Ebay now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true
If it's original like the seller says it is, it's truly amazing for us 67-72 guys.

Wow, they even clocked the wheels for the photos! (clocked means all of the wheels are set so the chevy emblems horizontal)...

Re: What a survivor?

That is just amazing... That is singlehandedly the best looking survivor I have seen from 67-72s hands down. I hope the person that gets it preserves it and leaves it as is. That really does belong in a museum. I would hate to see that get lowered and all modded out.

It's in my backyard- I can go look at it and snap pics if anyone here wants to bid on it... GLADLY!!

Re: What a survivor?

i'm probably upset some people here---it looks like a super nice truck but look at the pic with the hubcaps setting on the tailgate. it appears that the rubber bumpers for the tailgate are painted over, and the tailgate hinges too. my 72 super has original paint on it (whats left anyway) and those items are not painted body color.

Re: What a survivor?

i sort of wonder why a truck in such great shape with so lo-mileage had to have the original fuel line going to the carb butchered up?? i've had trucks with 200-300thousand miles the body barely held together with duct tape that have still had original fully intact fuel lines

it's a good story tho// i dont believe in santa or the tooth fairy either

Re: What a survivor?

chrome rims?? never seen them before as stock

to me buying "off the showroom floor" and "ordering" 2 different animals

i'll stick with fraud especially if those are radial tires

Re: What a survivor?

That truck is frickin sick! But those chrome wheels and hub caps look a little weird. I think the caps were re-painted red?

Well it is a good source for some pictures anyway.

They ARE radials! Look at the line in the sidewall of the RF tire. Only radials do that.

Re: What a survivor?

I don't mean to pick nits but I agree on the tailgate hinge comments, it looks like it might have been repainted. The trim doesn't seem to lineup on the doors but that could just be the pics. I'm just having a hard time believing its 34 year old paint, I would sure like to see it in person. It is very nice though, somebody will be getting a good one.

Re: What a survivor?

Real hard to tell. If you were going to try to fool someone, wouldn't you replace the door latch and power booster and master cylinder? Who knows. Its still a sweet looking truck.

Re: What a survivor?

Wow, I see that, and I feel guilty about doing anything custom to my 72 GMC. I inherited it from my grandfather who bought it new, as a custom camper with every option as well. But the paint on mine isnt flawless. That white cab paint rusts easily. I feel bad that Im going to shave off all my trim on mine.

That truck is beautiful, but it sounds/looks a little too good to be true.

Re: What a survivor?

Nice pickup but I am gonna say it was repainted, looking at the engine pic the booster, the hinges and two bolts that hold the hood latch to the grill are rusty. I am sure I am wrong here but I have never seen the white letters on the firewall on the driverside. But all in all it is a nice pickup and I would take it.

look at the pic of the front, the bumper isnt straight with the body, the body to bumper gap on the left is smaller than the one on the right i call aftermarket bumper.

Re: What a survivor?

I am curious as well. 5k in two months of ownership? I say that because people today seem to drive a lot more than they did 30 years ago. 12-15k was an average year so that alone would make me think the milage is closer to 6 months of driving or altered. I know someone else may have put some miles on it or they may be more recent but he says it sat for 34 years.
It may be the real deal but I am leary until seen in person.
It does confirm however that these were the most beautiful trucks that Chevrolet ever built.
