People go crazy over those long-n-low duallies. I know a guy that traded a VERY nice '72 K5 Blazer for one. If I were you I'd figure out what you need to get out of it, and put in on Ebay and let the bidding start. I think it might surprise you what it would do.

Re: Opinion's Wanted, Lowered Crew Dually?
ditto!!!!!
hmm..my truck's cousin? I like the rear shaved handles, shaved trim holes, and shaved emblems. hmm..now i have idears for my truck. I wouldn't mind shaving it and stick it on bags so i can drop it 2" or raise it over factory 2" depending on what i'm doing.....but i have no money and i'm still in HS. If you ebay that thing, i'll bet you get some good money for it. Are those the factory camper mirrors in the back seat? I'm going to guess it's a 82 because it looks exactly like mine but with flat front markers. |

Re: Opinion's Wanted, Lowered Crew Dually?
I think you can get $3000 for it easy, more if you wait for the right person.
I must be getting old because 15 yrs ago I really wanted a slammed dually, now I see one and think "I can't tow much with that!" |

I do agree with most on the tire situation, However i won't put any money in it . I actually traded 2 truck's for it, a 87 Chevy 4x4 1/2 ton & a 90 Club cab that needed tranny changed. I had about $ 1200.00 in both trucks Here is pic of 87.......... Pic of the Club Cab.......... |

Re: Opinion's Wanted, Lowered Crew Dually?
Plan on doing that next week, I wanted to put a few miles on the 3/4 ton before heading off for a 300 mile trip. Seems to be a pretty good old truck, Undecided as to what size engine to go with in the Wrecker. I have a 454 available, Also have a stock 305 that is good. Probably put the 305 in just to get it running & work the bugs out of it, Really looking forward to get this to move around all the junk i buy.......... Thanks for asking, Man i love this forum for all the help and suggestions that u get. Am a member of several boards & this is the best by Far........... Thanks, Rick |

Re: Opinion's Wanted, Lowered Crew Dually?
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't that a couple blocks of wood holding the axle off the c-notch? Looks like the leafs are cut off right after the axle. Am I seeing things? Might need a little more than new tires to get that thing roadworthy.
Don't get me wrong, looks like you still got a screaming deal in the trade. If I'm right, I can see why he didn't get the 3K he was asking for it.

Re: Opinion's Wanted, Lowered Crew Dually?
persionally i would love to have the truck as a worker, daily, and a off roader, the lowered thing just doesnt cut it caus what can you actually use the truck for then? but then again, lifting the truck alot causes problems with towing, and lifting things in the bed....

No problem, As i stated in the beginning the Truck still need's Bags installed & other work done. You are correct about the block's of Wood, Due to not having Bags. The guy did a trailing arm suspension on the rear similar to the older Chevy's. Im really in no hurry to do anything with the Truck, Just thought it was kinda Cool & wanted to Share............
