Need some advice on changing to a solid driveshaft. 1971 swb smallblock w/ a 700r4 lowered 5 1/2 in rear...is there a particular year/make that will fit or is it easier to have one cut to fit.

lou,
i just had mine done at a driveshaft place. i think it was around 300 or so but to me it was worth it because i get a warranty & they measured it just right. it took about 1/2 hour to install & it is a 3-4" dia. to boot, it is supposed to be a h.d one due to my motor.

i went to a local junkyard with tape measure in hand. found an aluminum one for $10. changed front and rear u-joint. had around $50 bucks total in it.

Good thing I live right next to Mexico I had mine made for 50 bucks balanced and every thing.
