Shortbed is 116, but the back tires are not centered in the wheel
openings. I would move the rear back 1 inch, and make it 117.

Thank you, we were guessing 116 to 117. We were gonna set up for wheel well location though and let it fall on looks.

Re: Still looking for wheel base length

I was going to say just that, let the looks rule. Forget the measuring tape other than side to side. How it LOOKS in the wheel wells is what is most important. A little forward or rearward looks like CRAP.

Here's a picture of mine with the rear end 1" back from center (117").

That looks like a nicely detailed truck, very sharp.

Rob,
Is the front wheel in the same C/L location as the solidaxle was?
Did you move the front wheel forward?

I installed a Heidt's front end kit according to their directions which is supposed be the original center line. I moved the rear back an inch to better center it in the fender. It may not look exactly centered, but that is partially due to the way the rear fender tapers back toward the bottom (it's not a perfect circle).
