New body trim?

On my truck I want to pick up all new trim for my 71 to make it look like a 68. I want the wheel well trim, door trim, bed lower trim, tail gate and grill and do not know who would be the best place to order it al from as well as the clips needed. Any input would be great!

Thanks

Re: New body trim?

I got most of my trim stuff from Tim Christian. I pretty sure most of the vendors have the trim and clips.

Unfortunately it will be high priced and low quality coming from LMC. At least that what I got when I ordered a piece for my 77...

Try to forum supporting vendors...

Re: New body trim?

You may also want to check out www.earlyclassic.com as they are down in fresno and usually get you the parts in one day. I have a full set of trim from them on my truck...

Re: New body trim?

I believe Mar-K makes all the early trim. I plan to install the early trim on my Blazer.

Re: New body trim?

I just got my 67/68 trim delivered from Brothers. The quality is awesome!! It comes with all the clips and hardware to install it. Hope to install it sometime in January, after I replace the body mounts to make sure everything is sitting nice and straight.

I know what you meen, I just got my truck set up on its new mounts and after 7yrs it is time for trim then finish body work and paint.

Thanks every one for your input I will start calling and checking around. I know alot of places sell it but I was more worried about quality and how well they pace it before shipping. As we all know it does not take much to mess this stuff up.

Re: New body trim?

I got most of my 67 trim from Mar-K. They were friendly on the phone and helped me when the clips did not fit (the truck had push in clips and the nuts from the bolt on clips they supplied were to small). I was told they manufacture the trim for most if not all vendors. I also see NOS stuff on EBay if you don't mind waiting to put a full set together.

Re: New body trim?

Looks like I'm going to buy a lower set for my suburban. I know the way the 69/70 lower trim is attached differently from the 71/72. Since I'm replacing it all, which should I buy? Is one better than the other?

Thanks, I just ordered every piece of trim they had for a 68 SWB.
Full side molding, hood front edge trim, cab paint seperator trim, tailgate trim. Problem is I could not find a few parts!
1) the front fender noising that meets teh front hood trim.
2) tail light housing trim that meets the tail gate upper trim.
3) front and rear glass trim that goes in the rubber.

Am I just missing it or is it not their?

Thanks for the help guys!

From the site it looks like the trim is all the same. If yours has holes for trim already I would go with the right year as teh holes may be different sizes and the push ins may not work or the bolt ins may not work if the hole size is off. If you have no hole now I would go for the bolt in stuff only because you will be able to mock it all up before paint and remove it with out damage.

I've got new fenders, doors, and rear quarters so I'm going to have to drill new holes anyways. I'm guessing the 71/72 is probably a better way to go.

Rokcrln, for the rear tail light trim, are you talking about the hockey stick trim? ( L shaped ) They should have that also

Yes and the same for the front fenders I did not see it on their site so I will call at 5am my time and see if I can add it to the order. I called another place today and it was just over 1k for all the items plus shipping. For almost all the same pieces it is only $565 +- so far with only about $150 more if they have what I want.

Can't beat this board for help
