AC Cab

My uncle is building a 72 c20 CST. He picked up a donor truck for $400.00. When he got home, he realized that the cab is an AC cab. (wasn't needing the cab, bought it for the front clip/suspension.) Well the Cab has the normal rusting areas plus the firewall is rusting out. He was told that once a firewall is rusted out, you pretty much have to toss it. Is this true? If not, is it worth it to repair it? My uncle would like to use the AC Cab if it is salvageable.

Thanks in adavnce for your responses.

Just take the dash out and put it in the good cab.

Re: AC Cab

Just cut out the front dash and scrap the rest, easier to swap the dash and part of the firewal then it is to rebuild the cab

Re: AC Cab

I agree with all the above. But to remove the dash I suggest you drill out the spot welds in the lip around the windshield and unbolt the dash from the A pillars. Doesnt take long and it will be ready for use.
