Is it worth it???
I just bought a 1987 Chevrolet SWB with a 305 TBI Excellent paint, pretty much all stock came with a 5" tach and shift light. Runs and drives great. Got it for $2,250... Is that a good price for this???

Re: Is it worth it???
Doesn't matter if we think it's worth it.... it's all about you. As long as you're happy with the price -- that's all that matters. Heck someone else maybe would pay $3000 for it and others maybe only $1500.
Personally, I think it looks good.

Re: Is it worth it???
Looks good to me.
If it runs well (not a big fan of the 305) then it is certainly worth what you paid for it.

Re: Is it worth it???
I think you got a good deal. There are good deals out there you just have to have the money to pull the trigger. I bought my 81 silverado last June. It was my coworker grandfathers that he bought new. He passed away in 2002 and he got it. He later wanted a new truck and was going to trade it in. I told him I would give him $2,000 fot it. They where only going to give him $1,500. I knew i was still getting a deal! NO rust and NO dents in the bed! How rare is that! It only had 104,000 orig. miles, Air blows cold and drive great. So again I think you got a deal!

Re: Is it worth it???
Looks like you got a good deal. I wouldn't take 2250 for my truck and mine isn't as nice as yours.

Re: Is it worth it???
yeah I'd say you gotta a good deal. I just looked at a 83 Thursday. It wasn't as straight as yours. The guy said it had a rebuilt motor 2yrs. ago. It did have good tires and 8or10 inch mag wheels. Although I couldn't tell if it was a 305 or a 350. It seem to have a RV cam installed. He also said it had a shift kit installed in the tranny. It needed carpet and seat recovered. On the drivers side the cab corner was starting to rust along with a small spot on the quarter panel near the tire. Long story short it was listed in the paper at 4,000. He called after I returned home and said he'd take 3,000 for it. I'd rather pay 2,250.

Re: Is it worth it???
Around here a truck like that would probably fetch between 3 to 4 thousand easily. Nice score .

Re: Is it worth it???
wow very nice score. i think it is a good deal. the 87 is the last year of that style 1/2 and 3/4 ton. Nice seats which are not stock. it is tbi which is nice to have. 305 is a good all around motor for daily driving but not a real power box. that truck seems like a nice solid buy. good luck with it. Also it was built at the ST louis plant which closed after that year.

Re: Is it worth it???
If it's as rust-free as it looks and the interior is as nice as it looks, that truck would fetch $3500+ in my area easily. Everything around here is rusted to pieces or has had the piss beat out of it.
