parking brake question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

out got a quick question on my parking brake you use to be able to set the brake it and would lock the pedal automatically it stopped doing it i now got to reach under there and push the little lever to hold the pedal is there a way to fix this without replacing the hole thing?

the return spring broke or somehing siezed. get stiffer spring.... or lube it.. pics?

that same thing happened to me. the whole mechanism was frozen. wd-40 and some tlc sure helped. now i have to fix the rear brakes so the parking brake lever can do something

well the park brakes work i can reach under the dash and press the little lever that hold the peda; so i am thinking the spring is broke

Now rocking 383, NV4500, power steering, power brakes. Finally undergoing restoration.
