A few progress pics of my 70 2WD Blazer

Well we have been working on the Blazer a little and almost have it ready to lift off of the frame. We will be powder coating the frame and running gear before re-assembly. We got the passinger rocker replaced along with the a little floor, kick, door pillar and back plate. I also had to alter the original door to make a Blazer door out of it. This is an original Challet, so there are lots of mods that have to be made to turn it back into a Blazer...lol What do you think? WES

Good progress, Wes. What all has to be modified to return it back to a blazer?

Re: A few progress pics of my 70 2WD Blazer

Well I had to weld in the vent window post on both doors. I will have to install the reinforcement plate under the bed for the rear seat. (It does not have one nor ever did.) lol The bed rails have to be drilled and sliding nuts installed for the top. Install the weatherstrip lip on the tailgate. Drill and install nutserts (spell) for the little brackets that hold the rear of the top in place. Weld up all of the holes that snaps are in now for the plastic windows. Install the little plates that the rear seat sets on when bolted to the floor. And probably a few other things that I heven't even found yet..lol WES

Re: A few progress pics of my 70 2WD Blazer

The first gen blazer may not have been called challets, could have been Blazer camper or something like that. Here are a few pictures that I have found. A couple have pop up tops and another looks to be fiberglass or something. I wish that I could find some original pictures of mine. Most of these were 4X4 and mine is an original 2X4 witch makes it even stranger. lol WES

Re: A few progress pics of my 70 2WD Blazer

Gotta wonder what kind of camper you had, maybe a pure custom? Chalets were '76 & 77 only, brochure links here for those who want to see factory stuff:

And here's one for more general info: http://www.blazerchalet.com/
