Intake Bolts
Okay guys, how long should a manifold bolt be on a SBC (350)? Kind of a silly question I know. It's a performer manifold (2101). Thanks, Justin

personally i use ARP bolts, a set is about 15 bucks, I really like how they use a smaller diameter head, really helps when torquing down the 4 bolts on either side of the carb. I've never been dissapointed with their products.

Okay well I have a torker-II intake on there now, and I pulled a bolt and it's an inch long. Is that okay? can I use that 1 inch?

Re: Intake Bolts
should be fine.
Those intakes were designed to be a stock replacement, so the area around the bolts should be machined to accept the stock bolt.

Re: Intake Bolts
Well the stock bolts are 1 1/4" will a 1 inch long work? I know the 3/8 part is right, I'm gonna put a performer on it cause the torker is too high Rpm. The motor was put together by a friend, so he used the 1 inch, and I guess I haven't had problems yet, but I want to do it right with the new manifold.

Re: Intake Bolts
A word of caution here. The two center cylinder pushrods between 3&5 and 4&6 are real close to the intake bolts and if you put too long a bolt in the intake it will hit the pushrod. you will be able to see what I mean if you look at the bolt holes in the heads. I think either 1 1/4 or 1 inch will work OK.
