Now when you watch it, and when your staring & drooling over "THE" car (Eleanor) just think year one can reproduce that exact same looking car that is asctually better & faster & handles better, not sure how many arms & legs it cost, but i saw a show on it & man it is cool!

Re: Movie Gone in 60 sec's

I've got both the new and old version on cd! But I just changed channels so I can watch it again!

My cd of the old version has extra scene and apart of a part 2 they started filming before HB Halike(spelling) died.

I've got Vanishing Point too! Love all the old car movies.

Great movie. One of my favorites along with Two Lane Black Top, Convoy, Hollywood Nights, and American Graffeti.

The old version is good, even if it is alittle ruff around the edges.

Re: Movie Gone in 60 sec's

Old version is the greates car movie ever, just pass christine. I got both the new and old version. I like the old one better because all real crash scenes. I may have to get the dvd to see parts of the second one that wasnt completed. I droll over all those old cars in that movie.

Re: Movie Gone in 60 sec's

the old one is definitely only for guys and gals who really love cars. try getting your girlfriend to sit thru the HALF HOUR slo motion scene when he jumps the car at the bottom of the hill and the roof buckles and the trunk pops open.. never happen.

Re: Movie Gone in 60 sec's

Saw the original on a Sunday afternoon in Bluefield, W VA. in 1975 or 76?? I believe. I've been watching bits & pieces of it tonight. Gotta love those bell bottom plaids & hairstyles..................

Another good movie, Thunder Road

Re: Movie Gone in 60 sec's

The original is a good movie. Especially when you think of what he had to work with. I watched a bio on the director/actor before it started on Speed. The whole train wreck part was spur of the moment whe he heard it on the news. He went to the wreck an convinced them to let him film. Also he directed/acted/produced and drove Elanor in all the stunts. Another good one he did I belive is called Junkman.

Re: Movie Gone in 60 sec's

The scene, (old version), where he spins out and hits a pole was an accident also. Not in the script at all.

Re: Movie Gone in 60 sec's

Yeah, the orignal guy who made the movie owned a junk yard and in the original movie they wreck something like 150 cars not joke, and the scene with the train wreck was a real train wreck that they just happened upon and decided to film it for the movie.
Oops didn't read two post above mine....

BTW...New "Eleanor" is a make-believe, fantasy car. Ford never produced a Mustang version like that. New "Eleanor" is a "resto-rod" or "mod-rod" or whatever they call it.

However, I thought I heard that Shelby Club of America was accepting some for registration. Can anyone confirm or deny? (I know this is a Chevy board )

Even if New "Eleanor" isn't "real" or authentic, they're still boss, and I'd love to have one in my garage.

Fake New "Eleanor"...

Re: Movie Gone in 60 sec's

Yeah great movie i also saw the bio on him and his movies, he filmed things on Sunday when there was less traffic and he didn't get permits. Some of the cars he wrecked in a scene he would turn around in another scene and shoot it from a different angle. Good stuff.

The original Eleanor is still owned by H.B. Halicki's wife.

Can you imagine what the real Eleanor would bring at barret - jackson . That was a pretty cool movie , if only for the cars in the background . That's where all the short boxes were , lol
