muffler question
just wondering if anyone has info or a site i can read up on exhaust do and donts, i am getting ready to put some exhaust behind my 454 and want the truck to be loud but not annoying.
i had 40 series flowmasters behind the small block but the drone was horrible at around 65-70 mph. My truck is bagged so not sure if i could get an x or h pipe under there, anyone done this? |

Re: muffler question
I like my Dynomax Turbos alot better than the 40 Series I once had, less interior noise, no loss in performance, & alot cheaper, & I like the sound, not that tin can sound

Re: muffler question
I talked to a muffler shop where I live and they said a lot of people are going to the Magnaflo because the in vehicle noise is a lot less but they still sound good on the outside. I've had Flowmasters before and really liked them but my vehicle was a lot newer and better insulated. I got my 71 with glass packs on it and can't wait to put new exhaust on. Let me know what you use and how you like it.

Re: muffler question
Check out all of the web sites for the different makers of mufflers, they all have sound clips that you can play of the different mufflers. This should be a good guide for the sound you will get
