Buddy showed up in a 72 K-20 with pics

Had a friend show up from down south over new years with his winter beater. (for you guys down south, its something you drive when there is snow on the ground. HA) Pretty decent truck that just went 250 miles one way with 2 454 engines in the back. Said he got just over 12 mpg on the way up. Since i know everyone loves pics, here ya go. Enjoy.

Nice beater. I'm sure he had no traction problems! Truck doesn't look to be squatting much with 2 dressed bigblocks in it. Did he leave one at your house for you?

Re: Buddy showed up in a 72 K-20 with pics

The truck didn't squat much at all. Those engines went to my brother in laws for his 72 truck project. However, i got his complete 1972 402 engine...

Make sure tha tyou have those heads checked out on that 402, they have a really bad history of cracking.

Re: Buddy showed up in a 72 K-20 with pics

Hey Eric, looks like one of your trucks has the drivers door he needs to match that paint scheme.
I see he still has the big hubs too. Nice truck and it still gets him where he needs to go. Amazing how simple these old trucks are and they still get around.
How much snow have you had? We still do not have any and I was out in a light shirt yesterday.

68GMC, The 402 is a good engine.
72army, This is the first i have heard of a bad history of cracking.
Kevin, not much snow up here. What you see in the pic is it. Been rather warm also, it was in the low 40s here last week.
