3 core vs 4 core

i know 4 core is always a better choice as a radiator but what i need to know is a 3 core radiator adiquite for a 350 small block w/out air putting out no more than 300 horses. i live in so cal and it gets hot during the summer. the 4 core is 3.5x more price than 3 core.

Re: 3 core vs 4 core

Wholly Cow, where are you trying to buy them that they are 3.5X the price?
And to answer your question a 3 core would work fine if your not doing a ton of towing or heavy driving.
P.S.
PM Me I might be able to help with your problems.

Re: 3 core vs 4 core

have a 2 core aluminum in my built 408. a good shroud makes all the difference. Tried a number of fan combinations at first but it wasnt until I GOT A SHROUD FABRICATED that I WAS ABLE TO CURE MY HEATING PROBLEM. You should be fine wiyh a 3 core with the right shroud

Re: 3 core vs 4 core

yeah, your fine with a GOOD 3 core. you have to watch how big each row of cores is. I havea three core that fits in the factory small space that the 2 cores were. there are giant 3 core rads that have the big tanks and big core that look just like a 4 core. anyway small blocks are OK with 3 cores. remember there are 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 cores and 5/8 " . crossy
