Re: burn out every time i drive it.

The last burn out I did cost me a posi, 2 tires, lots of bodywork, and more money than I care to add up (well, afraid to add up).

When I get Yeller done, I'll do one every now and again...but not like I used to.

Every time...several times. It's one of the reasons I bought it! 2 fifty yarders on every straight stretch leading to my house. I live about 20 miles from town.

Re: burn out every time i drive it.

Check out linky in siggy. This is how me, my dad and a coworker killed a Friday afternoon at work a couple of years ago when we found out our new dig. camera took short videos. The MC SS and the Elky are my dad's. The black 68 is mine, of course. The white 76 is a coworker's.

I love my job

Re: burn out every time i drive it.

I used to spin the tire at the end of the driveway about every other week.

I promise you this, when I get him back on the road in the next few weeks, I'm gonna lay in to it one good time as a "I'm glad you're OK again" celebration.

i personally like the sidewalking burn outs when rice burners pull up beside me and wanna race....i mean come on!!! i'm in a 4X4 1/2 ton truck, and weigh twice what they do....but its still fun to do once in a while... especially when they have this look===>

Re: burn out every time i drive it.

I have an 86 GMC that was a factory 4.3 six. The six started knocking, in went an old 350. The truck was a riot after that. With the low gears the factory put in with a six, touch the gas just a weeee bit too much, clouds of smoke. I loved it, my dad hated it. I used to put the thing in 4 and burn one on the front, and one on the back, got all sorts of odd looks, but it sure was a blast.

I still remember the clips of your burnout at the track. Classic.

Sounds like some of you need to go 'visit' the local nursing home parking lot and give the folks there a 'trip' down memory lane.

Re: burn out every time i drive it.

:P almost forgot the burnout in high school where me and a friend both did burnouts side by side....both had open diffs. and both got them to lock up an pull posi.....the cloud was big enough to hide the gym and was so thick that the guy taking pictures was 5 feet behind the other car and couldn't even see the tail lights of it.... needless to say we both had to go buy tires the next day....

These were taken at the Car Craft Summer Cruise, back in 96 or 97. The first video was my very first one...took me a few seconds to find the "sweet" spot. I was throttling in/out of the throttle to make the crowd happy...ended up winning that round (and nuking my posi).

http://www.73-87.com/videos/ONE_240x160_15fps.mpg

In the second round, obviously my posi quit, but I had a better run. I ended up blowing the chord off the tire (causing pretty good body damage), then the tire popped from melting on the hot steel plate. I won the round, but was DQ'd because I blew a tire...you are only allowed one pair of tires for the whole competition. Sucks, cause the tires were fairly new too. Ended up finding a used set of tires mounted on steel wheels at the swap meet...changed out the tires/wheels, and drove home later that evening.

http://www.73-87.com/videos/TWO_240x160_15fps.mpg

That was a fun weekend, expensive, but worth it.

umm.......EVERYTIME. I rarely get to drive the heap, but I'm very consistant when it comes to putting some rubber on my fender, cab, and exhaust tips.

Re: burn out every time i drive it.

I had a new step side in 87. Done a long smoky in it and the Eagle ST came apart and ruined one of my fenders! Just a little warning for all of you steppers out there.
