I just purchaced a second truck and it's bench seat is different than my other truck.

My first truck-67 C10 has a bench seat that can fold forward. It has a stud with two nuts (for adjusting seatback angle) and a wing nut to hold the seat from tipping forward when you do not want.

My new truck-67 K10 is a fixed back seat and cannot be tilted.

Were both styles available or is my tilt back seat out of something different? Possibly it is out of an older pickup or possibly a panel/suburban?

My seat flips forward but it has a lever on each side to release it from the catch.

My flip down seat has the wing nut arrangement on both sides. Both of the K10's that I looked at were fixed seats.

Thank you 70c10, I have not seen one like that. What do other people have in there trucks? Or does everyone have buckets?

I've owned a '69 C-10 and a '71 K20. Both seats were fixed. Phil

67-8 flipped forward and there were two different ones (cheap springs & full foam).

69-70 were solid (again a cheap & dlx)

71-2 were solid, but different from the others (again a cheap & dlx)

When you buy new seat covers, be sure you know which seat you have or they won't fit.

The ones that have levers/latches to release them are 73+

hmmm,,my 68 gmc has a folding seat,,but doest have catches on it,,you just pull it forward...

All of the rigs I've owned/driven have been non-tilt.

'65 GMC
'72 C/10
'72 K/10

All fixed.

I am needing a new seat (or some serious repair to the existing one) in my '70 C10. One that tilts forward would be great as I am removing the gas tank from behind the seat. I noticed PICKMUP mentioned the '73 and newer seats tilted forward. Anyone have any idea how hard these are to adapt to our trucks? Hope I am not stealing the thread, this just seemed a good place to ask.

I have a 71 Custom Deluxe C10 and it has a fixed seat.

My nephew's 68 has the same setup as the first picture. They are a better deal than taking out the rear bolt on your fixed seat. One of my trucks has a folding set setup like that. Not the best, but it works.

Would the spring vs the full foam seat be worth more?

My 1970 GMC had one that appeared to have the original style vinyl (could have been an earlier seat, but likely not).

When I took it out I noticed that it had springs with a thin layer of foam on top of it. Also had a fixed back.
