Found a 50th and got a small junkyard score

I was walking a junkyard yesterday and they had a really dark gold/white two tone '68 there. It was TOTALLY picked over. I was ready to move on when I looked a little closer and noticed under the grime that it had a bright gold dash pad, parchment door panels (one) and gold visors on it. All of which were trashed. The truck had been missing all the glass for a long, long time. The seat had been replaced at some point as well with a later model. I thought, could this be a 50th? The glovebox sticker was gone, but it had obviously been repainted a darker shade of gold on top of what appeared to be the correct gold for a 50th. The only part I salvaged from it was the emergency brake cover. There was another extremely picked over '68 right next to it and again, the only part I salvaged from that was the emergency brake cover. I went to the counter and put my two emergency brake covers on the counter and asked "What do you want for those?" He replied, "What the $%^& are they?". I told him and he said "shoot me an offer". I said, "how about $2". He said fine. I'm afraid that when it comes to junkyard scores, this is as good as it gets for me.

By the way, this goes without saying, but it was sure sad to see that shell sitting there rotting away.

Take the small scores, sooner or later you'll find a big one.

The park brake lever has a cover for it. It hides the ratchet part of the lever.

cornfed63 its a 67-68 only thing since there was a lever under the colum and not a foot pedal like on the 69-72
