Re: Paint Help!

If and when my truck is ready for something other than flat black (about 2 years from now I'm guessing), I will repaint it yellow with a white top. I like the white top look and that's how it was originally.

I may paint the top white when I redo the black this spring.

Re: Paint Help!

I always like the orange/white and red/white combos - white roof with the white stripe on the side. With the stripe, they look good with both upper and lower moldings. When I was looking for a truck to buy though, I found this one (Pics below). Does anyone know if this is a stock color scheme, and what this color is? I think it's gorgeous...

Re: Paint Help!

If you have moldings then keep them, if not it will cost $$ to add them.

I'm sticking with stock dark green but mine is a common 4WD not really for show.

Re: Paint Help!

I have one with the roof white and another with the white roof and the white stripe down the side. The moldings add a lot to the cost if you don't already have them. Most of the 70 models I have seen with the moldings don't have a stripe down the middle. It seems like they all have been white from the lower moldings down. You can always go with the white roof or paint it like the 71-72 trucks.

Re: Paint Help!

You need to get ball park figures from your shop.2-tone will be more time, paint and labor. I'd go with a single color that you like.

Re: Paint Help!

I see alot of bagged stuff that is really cool,(you know shaved and solid color) but I have a custom with the moldings and white top and love the thought of driving it in its original new colors and style.

I know how you feel tho, all the trucks on this site have great style on their own.

Re: Paint Help!

When I got my truck it was a faded, one-color, medium metallic green. I like the green but I also like white tops. So I painted it how I wanted it. I still have to do the box...
