someone give me the low down on hydroboost

with my current mastercylinder bad on my K20. i am thinking of putting a hydroboost system on it. i plan to pull my tractor this year with it for my bushhogging business. i know hydroboost comes on 1 ton and bigger trucks but is there any real advantages of it over a standard booster? if you have this (yukon jack) please post pics of how it works and what all you did to get it functional.
thanks

Re: someone give me the low down on hydroboost

I installed a hydroboost on my 56 Chevy truck and it works great. I took the booster off a 79 Cadillac Seville with 4 wheel disc brakes and used the complete setup on my truck. The truck stops very well. I don't have any pictures right now but was not a hard install. The diesal Cadillacs used the hydrobost setup. I used a power steering pump and hoses off a 1 ton truck for the big block in my truck.

Contact the guys at hydratch http://www.hydratechbraking.com/ They are the guys that can steer you where you want to go. I ran into a guy last fall that had a booster from them that he put in a 62 Chevy Belair along with his LS-1 motor upgrade and he was very impressed with their suport and knowledge. Enclosed are some pictures of his install.

What they're talking about is braking operated off the power steering pump. I've seen it used in road racing and situations where vacuum isn't high enough to operate power brakes.

Take a look at the braided lines running from brake master cylinder to the power steering pump area.
