Front Clip Question

I think I know but I don't want to assume anything If I decide to put a front end from a 67-68 on my 71 will I need anything other than the fenders, hood, radiator support, bumper & grille? Anything I'm forgetting?

At this point is just a thought. I've always liked the 67-68's and was looking for one when I found my 71. Maybe I just need another truck....or two

Re: Front Clip Question

when building mine i had a '67 grille off of another truck laying around. what did i do? i bought a new front clip just so i could use the grille. i definately like it better with the 67-68 front clip than the 72 it was.

Re: Front Clip Question

Hood latch and wife's aproval to spend more money on it then her! I'm lucky in that aspect, my wife told me she likes the 67-68 front end better for our 70 Blazer so I bought another truck for parts. Then she tells me she ment just the front end parts! Oh well I should listen better

Re: Front Clip Question

There's a gravel guard that mounts to the front of the rad support, Hood latch is different too, and the grill support between the grill and rad support.

Re: Front Clip Question

hey draggn, you got the right flavor, I too love the 67-68 front clip, some guys really like the egg shell grille on the 71-72 however its a personal prefferance, if I had another truck that didnt have 67-68 front clip, I would be changing, I have a 72 and dont want to change it around due to fact those front clips dont look well with the upper and lower trim, if you got you a short bed and the desire , I think that would be a sweet truck when you get it done. send some pictures when done . would love to see.

Yea I'm lucky in that aspect as well. From years of tearing apart a perfectly good scooter and "redoin" it she knows how I am. She looks in the garage and just shakes her head! It's all good

Thanks everyone for all the replies. Not sure if I'm going this route yet but I'm making a list.

hvychve....you made a good point I didn't think of about the upper and lower trim. Anyone got pics of a 67-68 front end on a truck with the trim?
