Horn Parts
My horn hasn't worked since I've owned my truck and after removing the steering wheel I found out that the spring, eyelet and insulator are missing. I went to all the local part houses but they couldn't get the pieces. The local Chevy dealer says the parts are discontinued. Not sure where else to look?? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Re: Horn Parts
Brothers, or another board member/vendor? LMC usually has this sort of little stuff, but I wasn't impressed with their handling of the situation when they sent me an incorrect part.
You could wire up a cheasy horn button, strap it to the column and call it fixed. The horn relay is to the right of the fuse box, with a red, green, and black wire if I remember correctly. Ground the black one through the switch and the relay should click, horn blow, etc. You should be able to connect a wire to the connector without cutting the wiring in case you find the parts, or change wheels, etc. Last edited by 72lb4x4; 01-17-2007 at 10:59 PM. |
