Well I decided to put a block heater on my 69 3/4 ton because she has a really hard time starting in subzero temperatures. The question I have is...what size are the expansion plugs on a 350?

Re: Expansion (freeze plug) question
If I remember correctly they are 1 1/2" but it's been a while; Your local NAPA store can look up the correct block heater by application or I'll check and post it here tomorrow when I'm at work. It's also important to install it in the right location on the block. I know it's on the left side and I'm pretty sure it replaces the rear freeze plug on the left side. I'll check that as well.

Napa part number for block heater is 605-1490. Should be installed in the left rear expansion plug hole (driver side). The element should be oriented at 12:00 (pointing straight up). Hope this helps. |
