Well it's not a 292, but it's close. This is from 4 years ago when I painted my Camaro engine. Now the air cleaner looks brand new and the engine is dirty and needs to be cleaned up. Go figure!

Don't limit yourself.Look at all post on engine detailing. You may pull ideas from a V-8 or 250 engine bay.Usually the best looking engine bays are clean and everything is painted or powder coated or chrome or aluminum.Keep the wires organized, there are wire ties and sleeves for that or you can get the factory sleeves/runners.Do new gaskets so there are no leaks and make sure anything you paint or powder coat is cleaned well enough for the coating to stick.
The 3 most important parts to detailing an engine are NEAT CLEAN ORGANIZEDIMHO

How hard is it to add air and power steering to my 292?

Not hard- but expensive for the brackets!

Re: Pictures Needed! 292 inline6 detailed
These are great pics not only for detailing but for restoration.
How do I tell the difference visually between 250 and 292? Not sure which one is in my truck. Bob |

Re: Pictures Needed! 292 inline6 detailed
The last pic shown is a 292. A 250 will have the engine mount and fuel pump switched around.

Re: Pictures Needed! 292 inline6 detailed
Here are some pics of my 250 with A/C and power steering. I've been down the road with this deal in depth... Do a search on the board for both, and you'll get some good info. I hope you have a junkyard around! Otherwise eBay and these guys here are your friend. The best way is to find a truck that has everything (pump brackets, pump and water pump pulley, I would get a new balancer pulley though, instead of junkyard) that way you will know everything will line up.
Go to oldairproducts.com for the A/C compressor bracket no matter who you use for everything else (that's not the one I have in the pic tho). They have the best design by far, and do your best to find the third pulley for on top of the water pump so you don't have to use aftermarket idler pulleys.
