Question Need input - Door skins or Not?

I have the correct tools and have some time.....

I just need to decide???????

Both of my doors are clean inside no rust, the botton inners are in great shape no speaker holes original paint. But the outsides on both have dents that are way beyond trying to repair......

Skins= $125 for both door skins shipped, and at least a day for removal and installation of a new skin.

Progress - Both door skins took about 1 hour to remove and grind off skins, just allot of surface rust. Time to clean grind edges and seal intrerior metal. Sure does make working on the inside stuff allot easier! Put the new skins on next week Monday or Tuesday....

Doors = $625 shipped and about 2~3 hours to install...

I have seen post with quality concerns of aftermarket doors not so great as far as fit & they weight less (thinner metal!)

If you know how and have time, skins seems the way to go

You might try and find some good used doors. That's what I did, I think I spent about $300.

Skin em!

With the skins cut off you can blast the inner portion of door and epoxy prime. Also with the skins cut off you can do ANYTHING to that door shell as its very weak by itself. Fit the doors to the truck after you have cut the skins off. Now you can make those doors fit that truck like a glove!

The link on my sig as an album on skinning door skins, kinda shows the step by step process.
