Best way to clean power steering pump - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I took my power steering pump off so I can get the brackets powder coated and figured I would clean up the pump as well. One of the hoses had a slit in it so the bottom has a buildup of power steering fluid. What can I use to get that off of there?

You can use a solvent tank or spray it off with parts cleaner and an air hose. Whatever method you use make sure you don't get any of the solvent or cleaner inside. I don't think the seals would like that.

I dont have a solvent take. What kind of parts cleaner could I use?
