Post Longhorn is painted!(pic)

Paint is messed up.
The painter sprayed undercoating in the booth and it has fisheyes all over it.(silicone contamination) I am wet sanding and buffing for the next two days. Hope I have enough clear. You can see more pics on my website. Click on my truck link as I will be posting progress pics. www.noscade.com
I am taking him to small claims court. $2500 and two years later but I am glad my truck is home. He did not even have time to fix his runs. www.noscade.com

Huge bummer, for what it's worth...it looks awsome in the pic.
For those not in the know...this is what his rig looked like before the awsome black hue was applied.

Thanks for the encouragement. I thought allot of you would say it looked better before. It needed new window rubber and I did not like the big mirrors and home made side boxes in the bed so I figured it was a good time to paint. Also filled truim holes. Check out progress pics here http://www.noscade.com/72%20chevy%20paint/

I looked at your pics on your site. It looks good, but the fish eyes all I can say is WOW!!!! Those are some bad fish eyes. It looks like somethin more than silicone contamination, maybe wrong speed of reducer and chemicals workin against each other, I've seen that happen. The shop I worked at we would back mask the jambs and interior, Buzz down the paint and re-shoot the whole truck. It would save you man hours. That is alot of wet sanding and buffin, plus you run the risk of burnin through and havin to start over anyway. Thats a BUMMER def take him to court and get retrubution. I love black on a vehichle it is so awsome. Good luck in court.

ftw80.... please tell me that dude used vaseline and gave you a cigarette afterwards. ok really, did you check with the BBB before doing business with that "shop" How did you come to choose that shop? from the pics, that paint will have to be sanded off and resprayed (major fish eyes, tons of trash, and niagra falls on the side) pretty damn bad if you ask me. what was the lite green paint job in your pics? that paint job looked good. why didn't you have the same person shoot your truck? follow through with a complaint with the BBB in your area so it will be on file (might help the next person not get screwed) but first, if you feel this so called "shop" is capable of good work(????) give them a chance to make it right with you (give the money for paint job and materials back or redo it) however from what I can tell from the pics, the prep and body work looked descent....good luck...eb

Hey NSANE68!!!thanks for the info. I am not sure what caused the fiseyes but he is blaming it on booth contamination.(I rented the booth) He is a paint business and does not even have a booth. He does not know, but next car out of the booth came out killer. You can see it on my site. It is a city and water blazer pastel green. Also two stage paint. ebfabman, do you fab early Broncos? I did not do the BBB but have been using Hawaii State Dept of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. This is why the truck got this far after two years of the run around. I have bent over backwards to work things out with this guy. I spent all last week helping wet sand.
After the screw up, I offered to buy new clear and have him reshoot. Said he was too busy and needed to make money. the body work looks decent, but I am afraid it may not last. I visited my rustfree truck at his shop many a time only to find it with heavy surface rust and my tarp off. My cherry steering wheel is covered in 2 years of primer and overspray. I paid for paint twice and he used it on other cars. My reg is also waaayy expired. Dry rot has started in the wood bed. the list goes on. I think I have no choice but to sue.

Next one out of the booth was fine huh. Kinda makes me wonder if the chemicals were wrong, otherwise that next truck would fish-eye also. The contamination will stay in the booth for 2-4wks, unless he cleaned the hell out of it.

That is not his phone # but the shop that rented me the booth. They were really good guys. I wish I had them paint it. My painter sprayed(about the size of regular krylon) a can of dyna coat undercoating in the bed a floor of cab. He did this after using the wax cleaner and right before painting. I watched him do it but did not think about it until after it was too late. He then went out and turned on the fan. I really think this was the cause of the fisheyes. Regardless of the cause, I think he should of helped me fix the problem.

We did the mediation in court and I settled for $1000...then he did not pay as agreed so I dismissed the case and was going back to small claims. He finally paid $500 and said he will make more payments. I just ordered some stuff form Wes and cleaned the overspray off the steering wheel. I will post when I get some new progress pics. Thanks for asking Longhornmail. By the way, what happened to all the longhorn pics on you old site?

Just wondering why you got it painted. It did look pretty damn good before. I love that green on these trucks. It looked like a really nice original specimen in the before pic. Are you going to go for the original or custom look when it is done?
