Console Replacement

Hello - I have a 1972 GMC Jimmy with an original console. I would like to replace it with something new but only see a plastic version from LMC Truck. Any other suggestions out there?

Re: Console Replacement

The Truck Shop has them in plastic as well, but it is in the original style with the belt buckle holders. P/N 69-03417

Also found at Chevy Duty, P/N 36-731 and they are a bit cheaper.

Re: Console Replacement

Nobody makes exact reproductions of the original console (notice the repops don't have the chrome trim). Restore your current console or look for a restored one for sale. I've seen them both here on the board (you'll need to be a paid subscriber to buy off the parts section) and on ebay.

You could also look for a different type of console. I've seen some guys putting later model suburban consoles in their trucks. Tuffy also makes a nice console that has a locking compartment and you can get a locking area for your stereo, both are nice when the top is off.

Re: Console Replacement

Welcome to the board from South Mississippi! Just to clarify what bouncytruck posted, you need to be a subscriber to post a WTB thread on the parts board, but if someone else posts something for sale you want feel free to respond.
