What a nice color. If it's good enough for a 73-87, then I GUESS it's good enough for a Lamborghini. Oh, that is such a teaser...

Ah well, that's the rule right, leave the crowd wanting more?

Tape all the enges of your panels with masking tape, I use the green masking tape available at most auto parts stores...as it is designed (I am pretty sure) for automotive painting applications. This should help reduce or eliminate scratches or chips should panels come in contact with each other during reassembly.

Also, doesn't hurt to have an extra set of hands available to help hold and align panels during reassembly.

Take your time too!!

Re: My truck is finally getting painted!!!

Steemin, Yours is my favorite truck on here - and that's saying alot, since there are a whole mess of really nice trucks on here. I can't wait to see it finished, or at least painted and put together.

I went on the advice of some folks in the Chevytalk forum when reassembling my '55 Chevy Belair and used electrical tape on the corners and on the edges of the stainless trim. The nice part about it is that it affords a bit more protection (it's a little thicker) and you can pull it out from under things once mounted if they're not tightened completely. It worked really well for me. Just another option to consider...

Beautiful color, by the way!

on the back of the tailgate there are latches... well more or less. basically a hoop attached to the tailgate, and a hoop attached to the bed side. when the tailgate closes, you put a pin through both hoops and that holds the tailgate up. very simple, but a good way to clean the look up

and thanx for the advice alee75681... in fact my dad just finished a 55 belair, they're sweet cars.
