2x4 and 4x4 frames

Are the 2x4 and 4x4 frames the same?

Pics would be great, whats all different? I'am new to the GM truck thing, been into International Harvesters for a long time, and the 2wheel drive frames are the same as the 4x4 frames so its a easy conversion on them (bolt on), i hoped the 71 C-20 i have was also.
