Radiator for '71 C10, 350

Hi Folks,

Newbie here...great site.

Just purchased the truck. Has a 2 core radiator left from previous Owner conversion from 6 cyl to 350 and no fan shroud.

My questions include:

- Recommended supplier for new radiator? Just checked out a couple of prices: ~$200 for a 3 core and ~$230 for a 4 core, both new.
- Go with 3 or 4 core? Truck will tow pretty fair sized trailer on occassion but otherwise, light workload.
- Fan shroud prices don't appear to vary much although open for suggestions from someone who's shopped.
- Additional hardware needed to convert radiator and add shroud?

First off welcome to the board. Do you have Oreillys Auto parts yet back there? That is where I get my radiators from. If not any parts tore would probably be best. Most 3 row radiators and all 4 row radiators use big side tanks and the one you have is small tanks. But no fear. You will need to replace the upper and lower radiator hold downs and the rubber insullators in them. You can buy all these things new from any vendor that deals in these trucks. Same with the shroud. Just get the one for an a/c truck and you should be good, also avaliable new. I d go with the 4 row. Not much more and you can never have to much cooling capacity. You will also need the lower clips to hold the shroud in, also avaliable at most vendors. And the 4 screws that hold the shroud on unless they left the old ones on yours when they got rid of the old shroud. Hope this helps and good luck with your ride.

You can get 4 cores on ebay for around $200 shipped all day long. I went to the machine shop that built my motor and got a 4 core new for $165 just my .02
