Does anyone know if swapping a power brake booster and master cylinder into my 88 4wd from a 96-99 4wd will improve braking/pedal feel? What needs to be swapped to make this work right.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |

What exactly are you looking for? (What is "improved"?) Are the brakes too hard or too soft? Or is it the 1/2 mile of pedal travel before you actually start braking that is bothering you?
Unfortunatley GM has designed them that way, but some trucks are not as bad as others. ![]() If they're all the same part numbers then it probably won't. Might call a parts store and ask for price on a booster and M/C for an '88, then ask if that's the same part number for '96-ish. If they're not then you might see good results. Of course they might not be compatible, too. I don't know if 4-wheel ABS that was available on later models would affect this. Also, I know the ext. cabs got bigger brakes (at least in the earlier years) so that might matter if you're swapping from reg. cab into an ext. cab. I wanna hear how this turns out. ![]() Ben
