70 GMC to 72 Chev???

is it very hard to make a 70 GMC into a 72 chev what all needs to be changed and how hard would it be? i probly will never do this but i was just kinda toying with the idea the other day while day dreaming of what i would make my truck look like if i suddenly had a large excess of money.

Well the first obvios thing ateticly would be the grill and headlight fixtures, and the badges. It would start to look like one.

Re: 70 GMC to 72 Chev???

i believe you have to change the entire front clip over to the chevy stuff if you do it which would be the hood, fenders, grill, and rad support

Re: 70 GMC to 72 Chev???

I am guessing you want it to look like a 71-72 Chevy from the outside right?Well everything except the hood and hinges on the front clip would have to be replaced. Tailgate. Front bumper and park lights and of coarse emblems.

Re: 70 GMC to 72 Chev???

My 72.........was a 70 GMC, and yes Aarons72s is correct, everything was swapped except the hood, hinges, and inner fenders

I'd have to agree with Special-k tho.

may as well swap out the hod too, easier than welding the holes for the GMC badges closed.

I vote keep it a GMC.

Re: 70 GMC to 72 Chev???

That question again! Keep it GMC! If you want a Chevy, sell the GMC and buy a Chevy! If you do change tho, I have a big dumpster you can throw the GMC clip in.
