What' in store for this Spring/Summer truck projects for you?

Hi Guys...I have been busy as can be with the opening of my new spray-in Bed liner biz GatorHyde of Denver, and consiquently...Lil' Red has been sitting patiently in the corner of the garage waiting for me to finish her.

With the shop up and running I now have decided to move Lil' Red over to my shop (2700 sq ft) and set her on her new Wheel Skates. My plans for this Spring and Summer are to finish her! I have to have the cowl, hood, fenders, and inner fenders all lined up for proper gaps, that is the big part of whats left to do. Then I will finish where I left off with the Brothers Power Window Install. Bolt in my seats and finish off the interior. Hook up the 700r4 Trans linkage and bleed brakes....and with a little luck Lil' Red will be road worthy. I have more plans for her also , like rear disc brakes and a eaton posi rear end....but first things first! I will post pics of my new shop and pics of Lil' Red on her skates at the new shop ASAP! For thos of you that haven't met Lil' Red...here she is. Her grill and front bumper are on now.

What you got planned for Spring/Summer???

Alex

Re: What' in store for this Spring/Summer truck projects for you?

As soon as I quit drooling on my keyboard I'm gonna whine about why my truck doesn't look that good..... I have plans to get my rear sport bumper, new sport mirrors are ordered from Chevrolet, and I need to get new a/c outlets. I also need to finish the a/c underhood stuff.

Thanks Weasel! To spray the bed floor and 3-6" up the sides on a 6' bed...I'd charge you $299.99...how's that? Please...I don't want to start any bs with anyone about spray material.

I was test fitting my painted inner fenders...of course 10 holes line up but 3 don't. I'll get it figured!

Re: What' in store for this Spring/Summer truck projects for you?

Cab repair...kick panels, floor repair, inner and outer rockers, cab corners.

Next doors...either replace or repair. I would rather repair so I can learn more.

That is how my spring and summer are shaping up.

Re: What' in store for this Spring/Summer truck projects for you?

For me probably just more Parts Collecting for the eventual restoration likely...If I manage some time off by summer, I may even get to drive it again this year (hopefully more than a weeks worth too, like last year), rather than it collecting dust in storage at my Dads.

Re: What' in store for this Spring/Summer truck projects for you?

If I ever get this rear flip kit finished...
Next is 91 burb grill conversion, ls1 electric fans, and upgrade my alternator.
After that....might have to wait til next year before anything major.
Like a 6.0 and new tranny.

2. Edelbrock Performer RPM intake (air gap)
3. Comp Cams full roller rockers (1.6)
4. Pete Jackson gear drive for a little noise (MAYBE?)

Re: What' in store for this Spring/Summer truck projects for you?

Geesh part of me is embarreassed to even be a part of this board with all these amazing restorations, and gorgeous trucks. My job so far was to save a VERY neglected 72 C20 from the crusher, and give it new life much like the good Ol Dr. Frankenstein. A piece here, and there, nothing pretty but solid, and workable but honestly an ugly monster with a simple heart. I prefer riding my motorcycles, but here in New England, there is about 3 months in which that would mean certain death. So the C20 is my back-up and am proud of just saving it from the grave, and making it simple, if not homely, and driveable in the winter months. So far I have cut the rot out of the cab. This has meant new floorpans, 4 cab corners, cab supports, and mounts, new front shocks, and lower a-arms, serviced brakes, and lines, fixed some electrical issues, heater issues, new universal window washer pump, fixed speedometer, added aftermarket temp gauge, painted the interior black (was blue), replaced windshield. Next in line are new wheels (currently original "split rims") and new rubber, also some door window rubber, and felts. Next summer comes the exterior. New wood for the flat bed, plan on making bed rails from 2" steel pipe work, and paint the cab exterior John Deere Blitz Black and some general simple detailing. I am loving this project, and for me , I am lucky that my sense of style has always worked with a poor man's budget. I will continue to work on it while driving it, and it's been, and hope it will continue to be a great experience.

Re: What' in store for this Spring/Summer truck projects for you?

After 6 weeks of USMC training, I'm going to take care of the rest of the tread on my rear tires.

Summer's the time to drive the wheels off of the truck. Winter's for working and next winter will be time to lay frame.

Re: What' in store for this Spring/Summer truck projects for you?

PAINT!

I plan on going through the suspension again to make sure everything is still solid. I hope to get the tank relocated and start on the inside. But I have been working a little on the interior now only because I can't paint.

My goal is to have my truck in a "looker" state by the time the GoodGuys show rolls around in Washington. Not that I will show it, but I would like to roll up looking cool

Re: What' in store for this Spring/Summer truck projects for you?

Well I just build a 28x36 garage, Wish I would have heated it for this winter. I still need to finish a few things! I would like to have the frame powder coated! That is if I can find somewhere to take it. Hopefully it will be a rollin chassis. I need to order one of those rear tanks. Any advice before the powder coat would be helpful. Has anyone tried the new upper control arms from cpp? After that I'll have the cab media blasted, and start prepping for paint. This will probably take me through the year. oldno7
