Sons Truck Back from paint shop
Well here it is, he put his 20's on today and now starts the task of transfering evrything over. It's a chevy orange with a gold pearl added.

Re: Sons Truck Back from paint shop
that looks like a tear down to me. That is the 78 camper special correct? the one that was white and yello? it sure looks nice but if it were me i would have kept it more stock. But that does not matter it looks like some nice work on the tail lights and the plate holder!
or is the 78 camper under the tarp behind it ?? Got any before pictures or your sons truck or are you waiting till afte it is all back together?

Re: Sons Truck Back from paint shop
Sorry guys our family & friends took my wife and I out for our anniverary.
Now here's the scope, theorange is not a comlete off resto, its a 78 k1o that he bought after the 80, the one covered was totaled, a week before he got married. I still have my 78 camper special in stock color and will stay that way. That is also 86 swb w/ 20's in front of it. He is now taking everyhting and transfering it from the totaled 80 to the k10. Funny we were at the resturant and he brought his coomputer telephone and were watching your comments come in but couldn't really reply, but he loved your comments. He'll start dropping in the engine and transmission this weekend hopefully, I'll try to keep the pics going but for now he's pretty happy with the way things are turning out. Also he has the round billet gas doors -both sides, teardrop lights along with the billet rod mirrors, not sure how he's going to se anything with them. Thanks again Tom.

Re: Sons Truck Back from paint shop
84, its a steel hood & hiway he's done most of the work, he fabricated the round opening for the gas doors and welded the back tailights is and frenched the tear drop openings. The tail gate was from the totaled 80 but he did all the work himself. Right now he's waitng for the front inner fenders, fiberglass headliner w/ speaker that are being painted to mach the rest of the truck.
I'll try to get some pics of the engine transmission & transfer case. The engine matches pretty much the paint and the drivetrain is a gray and black combo. Tom

Re: Sons Truck Back from paint shop
Tell him he has a really good taste in wheels!
I really like the MB Gunner 6's... Weld Evolocity look, without the $400/wheel price tag. What a nice truck. Man, I want a new project.
