Re: Factory Options for 67-72

Wow...that would be a LONG list. I don't know anyplace online to get that info, but if you call Chevy for a free "Restoration Info Package", they'll send info that covers the specific year truck you have.

Call GM at 800.222.1020, and you'll need your VIN #. It took about 1 week for my package to arrive, and there is lots of neat info in it. It's FREE.

The package will only cover info for the specific year truck you request. I guess you could get multiple years info, but you DO need a valid VIN for each one.

Call 'em up. It's one of the last FREE things available these days.

Re: Factory Options for 67-72

the book for 1969 shows the most options. I had one for each year at one point... just make up a VIN and feed it to them.

All due respect Longhornman, that is wrong and is one of the reasons there are so few such generous offers left in the world;people will always abuse them.

Re: Factory Options for 67-72

That's all fine & dandy if you are lucky enough to own one of each body style for each year. There is nothing dishonest or wrong about what Andy said... If the nice folks that offer the GM Restoration packet would allow you to get the packets you wanted, without using a vin, or even better, just compile ALL of the 67-72 packets together, then we wouldn't need to find "loopholes"...

Re: Factory Options for 67-72

point taken.
However, each packet is missing info, and you pretty much need all 6 to get all the info.
None the less though... you have a very valid point.

Re: Factory Options for 67-72

I am a Chevrolet Service director. The 800-222-1020 number is Chevrolet Customer Assistance. They are sub-contract employees for GM who handle requests. The best source is the parts manuals which will have all truck options, but will cover multiple models usually 10-60 series. Also the assembly manuals often refer to option RPO... I know of no list specific to a year or series starting from a-z. It would be cool if one existed and it might, I just don't know of any!

Not a big deal, and I apologize for sounding like a prik ( It was something like 02:41 hrs!). There does seem to be missing info and I have thought about sending for a second one.
I was just real happy, and amazed to get this stuff, and I'd hate to see them pull the plug after 10,000 people decide to order 6 copies using fictitious vins.
Keep up the good work,I always enjoy your posts.

Re: Factory Options for 67-72

There is also a list of options in the"Chevrolet Pickup Red Book".It includes the option # and a basic description but seems to have some inaccuracies. It also details some of the models and production #'s.It cost me $10.95 from Motorbooks.

Re: Factory Options for 67-72

Just ordered mine and it was way easy. So easy, a caveman could do it. Now I have to camp out at the post office to wait for it. The possibilities are endless.
