Original GM photo prints

I thought you might enjoy taking a peek as at small piece of my stash of original 8.5x11 black and white GM photo prints. I picked up about an 8 inch tall pile of these old black and white photo prints when I worked at the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center years ago in Troy, MI. CAC was basically bootcamp when starting a career on the customer relations side of the business back then. This is pretty much all that I have for '73 - '87 trucks photo prints. I couldn't resist passing them up as were going into the trash anyway.

Re: Original GM photo prints

wow ! My dads side of the family is from flint ( were he grew up) My uncal has worked for Gm his whole life on the assembly line. I wonder if he was in the flint truck plant at this time. I know he did the pin stripping on the line for some time. Yeah by hand! So any of you flint truck owners with factory pin stripping there is a good chance. He then went to potiac were he hand painted. Then i dont know were. Now he is working in the HD plant in MI. It is eather in Flint or in Pontiac MI. He assembles the door panals on the 2500 Hd's and up. I really wish my truck was from Flint!! ahh well. Cool pics man

That's pretty cool! Hopefully, your uncle isn't one of the UAW fellas standing around with their hands in their pockes in the background of this picture.

I love this picture. Classic UAW (U Ain't Workin).

I did not know they did any painting by hand. Thought all was done by robots.

Re: Original GM photo prints

Not in those days. actually if i am rembering this right the last Gm car that was hand painted was the 96 impala ss. For trucks i do not rember. IOT is really cool though cause you can find the little inperfections and human error that give your truck its style. It is really too bad what Gm did in flint though. Place has never come back. I saw a documentary and they showed the last truck to roll off the line in flint in 86 ( it think). Was red and somthing else. It is a shame.

Also he may have painted your pinstripe. I did not even know he did them untill my dad told me last year. I new he worked in the plants but never knew he did pinstripes. If i had know that i would have asked him to do something on my truck some time. He is a cool guy, and still has his first car a 78 corvette he bought new with his employee discount.

Thanks agian for posting the pics i will dwonload them and send them to him

Re: Original GM photo prints

Larry. I forgot you had these. When I left I snagged all the Corvette and nascar photos. Its fun to use the wayback machine and see how they did it then.

I think this guy was sick the day my doors passed by him!
