Post What are your thought about this truck?

Let me start by i do not like writting these threades but some time i just gotta know what your thoughts are.

So what do you think? I think the price is definatly high but any other thoughts.

I have a 1972 GMC K2500 for sale. It is a solid truck and would make a great plow truck. This truck is heavy duty. It has a 350 engine with a four barrel carburetor. It has a new battery. Runs good but could use new plugs and wires. It has an automatic transmission. Manual brakes and steering. The body is solid and has been repainted within the past 5 years. The truck features a mid 80's bed and tailgate painted to match. This truck has never been registered by anyone other than the original owner. The truck has less than 96,000 original miles on it. I bought this to restore but never got around to it and have too many other projects so this one must go. The truck does need some work. The tranny has a leak ( I believe from the pan gasket). It could use the tuneup. Sometimes I have to pur some gas down the carb to get it statred but once running it is fine. I don't know if this has to do with it needing new plugs and wires. Eight lug rims with heavy duty tires. Can be used as is or restore it. All glass is good.

Oh and ofcourse THANKS for any INPUT!!!!!!!!!

Plugs and wires usually mean it needs a valve job. The photo say's rockers and some floor pan. 4x4? I'm on my 3rd beer, but i don't see a price? I'm thinking $5-800.

Plugs & wires?How about points/condensor changed or points adjusted?Or,does it have HEI?It could be out of tune and/or a choke thing.It`s a neat truck with potential.The mix-matched bed hurts original value.Doesn`t hurt as a farm/plow/firewood truck.Where`s Andover?

Well unfortunatly we moved from a farm and now live in andover. It is alright for a suberbia town but it is not as spaciuls. The kind of place that a person gets yelled at for haveing a vehical with no plates you know. I was thinking of a 4x4 / camping / hunting / fishing truck or just to take the dogs to the lake. Oh i deleated the price by accident. the guy is asking 1500 which is way to much in my mind. but he said he will come down alot. As for the bed that kinda stinks. I can get a short fleet bed from a guy i know. but that would mean cutting the frame. or just build a nice flat bed on it

Re: What are your thought about this truck?

If thats Andover NJ thats a pretty good price. I'm in Budd lake NJ and 67-72 Chevy or GMC's for sale are few and far between around here. Chris

Re: What are your thought about this truck?

Paid 900 for my truck (2wd), and I had to scrap all sheetmetal except the front clip. (including the original cab) I know how hard it is to find solid trucks up here. I'd take it for a grand even. you can always sell the 80's bed and make a flatbed. look at how nice yukon jack's came out.
