anyone ever elimated tailgate chains on a stepside
has anyone on here ever elimated the ugly tailgate chains on a stepside with a latch and handle system or anything, any ideas or pictures would be appreciated thanks

heres mine... threaded insrts welded into the stake pocket. stainless allen bolts hold it closed...I never open it anyway.

i wish i had a stepside. Also i have seen it done a few time in a few diffrent ways. Some use an internal piano style hinge. Also have seen it done a few other ways.
That is one killer stepside by the way!!!! oh and wlcome to another 84!!

Heres mine ..Sorry for the dusty dark pics it was late and havnt had time to wash her..Oh ya fill in the part where the latch came threw the post you will see where i didnt let the paint guy know what i wanted done in person oh well to late now haha.Tailgate will never be lowered ..

I've seen it done with the 2 ends of a push button seat belt latch.
Like the above post but instead of the barrel latch use a seatbelt. |

Seems pretty cool. I never really thought about it until I saw the seatbelt thing mentioned above, then I remembered getting that picture. I have more of the truck, but they aren't anything special.
