bench seat qeustion

My truck had some captian chairs out of a van installed when I bought it. Since then I was able to buy a bench seat out of a '66 for 40.00. It is in good shape . My question is , are the bench seats suposed to fold forwards, you know like the seats in a 2 door car ?

The seat in my '69 doesn't fold forward...I always thought if the tank was behind the seat it didn't fold.

mine has a tank in the back and it folds but it doesnt have a lever or a locking system but the sliding of the seat foward does have a lever in the front of the seat that will alow it to slide foward

Re: bench seat qeustion

mine is the same as ldanny's, fold forward w/out locking mechanism, and the whole seat will slide foward when you pull the lever coming out the side of the seat.

Re: bench seat qeustion

My '64 seat doesn't fold forward. I truely think that was an option in those years. The standard seat had a fixed back, poor seat cushion, and vinyl cheap seat cover. In the "true" custom cabs, the seat had better foam cushion, cloth seat cover, and the back folded forward.
