I don't know about the rubber part, but Empire glass will install a new windshield for $214. I just got a quote for this very thing last week. Not sure if it includes the 12 free dinners

Man... ya'll are lucky!!! I can't find ONE DAMN person
in my entire town that will put a new one in for me!!!!!! Every one of them say that it is a royal pain in the ass! I could go with a solid black windshield rubber, but nobody will touch it with the stainless trim in it.
If I were you, I'd get an appointment tomorrow! Pay my $200 and be a happy camper! Later! |

Re: Windshield and install price in phoenix
Doesn't the stainless trim make it easier? Removing the trim exposes the slot in the rubber seal, and makes the seal easier to pull back to get the window in...

I was afraid to ask thinking it would be like $400 or something crazy. Also, I think the dinners from Empire are only included if you have your insurance fit the bill because they jack up the price on them. So the dinners are from your insurance at that point. Re: Windshield and install price in phoenix
Whether the rubber is made for trim or not doesn't make any difference in installing the glass. The problem is getting the trim back in correctly. It can be a real pain and I think most glass installers have either lost the touch or have never installed trim like we have. Newer cars are much easier.

Re: Windshield and install price in phoenix
I just got two quotes today locally one for $215 plus tax and one for $201 both installed in my driveway. That included the rubber gasket too. LMC wants glass-$150, (was $100 in my old catalog) shipping-$100, and gasket $30 plus shipping.
I am going to get this done about a week from now. |
