Can somebody tell me or assure me that only difference from a 1967 thru 1970 cab and 1971 and 1972 are the vent on the door jams for the gas tank. thanks

I think the gas tank neck hole might be different. 67-68's have different firewall holes than 69-72, and for what its worth, it seems like you are more likely to find rot in the roof or above the windows and doors in a 71-72 cab than the earlier ones, just based on what I've seen. And yes, the 71-72's have those vent thingies. Otherwise, they seem the same.

The parking brakes are different too, I think 67-68(hand lever) is mounted under the dash, and 69-72 (foot pedal)is mounted on the kick panel.Also, the rear view mirrors are cab-mounted 67-70?, and windsheild mounted (glued) after that.

71. 72 they were attached to the windshield

71 was not attached to the windshield, 72 was. There is also some small holes on the door right below the corner windows on a 71 and its not on a 72

71, and only 71, had a raised mounting pad for the mirror, earlier ones, if optioned (was not required till 70) jus drilled holes in the sheet metal
71 started a cable throttle, which had a cowl mounted pedal. The old ones were snapped on 2 'nubs' on the floor, plus, the firewall is not the same between the 2 on this part.
67 and 68 had the hand mounted parking brake handle, which had the cable hole in an odd location compaired to the 69 - 72
67's could be had with small back window... 68 - 72 light duty trucks could not
67/68 had no provisions for door operated dome lamp switches... a raised pad in the forward door jamb.
69 - 72 were offered with a cargo lamp, earlier models could not
69 - 72 were offered with a headliner, which included holes for the trim, earlier models could not (this was only on CST/cheyenne/cheyenne super)

I think there's more, but that's all i can think of at the moment.

67-68 had a horizontal fuse box while 69-72 had a vertical mounted fuse box.
and the 67 has a smaller ignition bezel hole

The throttle linkages went from rod type to cable type, so the holes in the firewall for throttle linkages are different.
