1 ton frame under a 1/2 burb?

I have been gathering parts to make my 72 burb a tow vehicle. It is a factory BB/400 dual air with tach and tilt. Body is a little rough and I don't like towing with a 1/2, especially a coil spring rear.
A board member has a 1 ton frame that i want to swap under my burb...........put the 1/2 burb frame mounts on it and go?
I know that I will have to move around crossmembers for the fuel tank. I plan on using a 87 burb tank with fuel pump and a holley 950 fuel injector package on the 396/402.
i have also seen the post about brackets needed for the auto trans crossmember, no big deal.
Will my BB motor frame brackets work?
Core support?
Is it that the 1 ton is taller but is the top part of the frame is the same as a 1/2 ,3/4 frame but it is lower/wider

WAG on my part, but I can measure tomorrow in the daylight. I have 2 67's. A 1/2 ton & a 3/4 to compare to this 71 C30 frame.

The C30 frame I have seems to get thicker just past the front axle on the downslope toward the firewall. The front end all the way out to the frame horns looks like every other truck I have. The 2 inches thicker part is on the bottom edge of the frame, hence the need to raise the tranny cross up 2in to mount where it will keep the trans in alignment.

Since this C-30 came with a 402 BB in it I see no reason why you can't use your motor mounts. Cab mounts might be different, you might get away this using thicker or thinner rubber mounts and not have to re-locate the steel ones. I don't know a thing about burbs or how they are setup on their frames.

C30 frames if I am not mistaken are longer wheel base. 133" compared to the 127" of the 1/2 and 3/4 ton frames. You should be able to get a 3/4 ton long wheelbase with springs from a GMC, As they were more common leaf spring in 3/4.

The rear of the burb frame and the truck frames are different. I am not even sure the burb can mount on the truck frame because of the way the truck kicks up.

What year 1t frame?Is it a`75-up K/30.I know the Suburban frames have different contours than the pickups in the 67-72.I do know that the wheelbase on a`73-up Suburban matches a 67-72 longbeds.I plan to build a 67-72 pickup off a `91 diesel Suburban.I will need to make body-mount brackets on the frame for the older body.

this will be verry interesting to follow im planning on puttin 1 ton axles under my C10 so i can get duallies under it

if i am not misdtakened, a 1 ton chassis did not come with a box so alot of work is needed to make it fit. all the mounts are different except the rad support mounts. Come to Edmonton and pick up my 3/4 ton 4x4 burb chassis

I would love to! But my traveling days are over.......Have to admit that I never went into Canada on my trips, so close I could see it but not in.

cooters, you could get a 9 foot step side bed in 67 - 72, or an 8 1/2 foot fleet side bed from march of 68 till 72.
However, the wheel base thing is dead on right. all one tons were 133 inch wheel base at a minimum. And also, the contour is all wrong as mantioned.
