C notch????
I want to drop my 1970 C-20 in the rear about 5 inches with drop leaf springs mabe go to 6 inches with shackles. My question is do I need to put a C notch in??? Any help would greatly be apreciated. Thanks

You should be able to get by with a 5" drop,& no notch.....if you dont plan on hauling. I think a 6" drop will bottom without the notch.......69 longhorn

If you remove the rubber bumpers after a flip kit you will have about 1/4" space between the axle and the frame, so you do need to do the c-notch. All thats to the c-notch is cutting the hole in the frame and bolting on the notch.

I havent installed 1 , but from install pics,it doesnt look too bad. I have a 5" drop on the longhorn(flipped axle,& relocated stock spring brackets,& removed 2 leafs & the flat helper). I have between 3 to 3 1/2 " clearance tween the axle & frame(no bump stops), & havent bottomed anything......69.
