But then again, i don't like the moldings in the first place.

Lucky for you, my opinion doesn't mean much

Re: ?wood or black?

I have one truck with the woodgrain and another with the black moldings. I don't really have a preference but the ones on my C10 really need replaced.

Re: ?wood or black?

I replace whatever it came with.If I don`t see a Cheyenne,Super,CST emblem or a plaid seat cover,I don`t like to see woodgrain. It`s like puttin` GTO badges on a Tempest,IMHO.It`s not noticeable until you`re close anyway.I`ve had tucks that black would look better on,but came with w/g so w/g it got.

Re: ?wood or black?

My K10 is a custom deluxe and had the woodgrain moldings. This is another subject that has been argued back and forth on this board a few times. Most say a custom deluxe should of had black moldings, they may be right but mine had woodgrain when I got it so I replaced them with woodgrain. Are they correct? Who knows, but I'm sure GM wouldn't have stopped production if they were running short of black moldings on a given day. Out the door cheaper trucks would go with the woodgrain moldings. But as previously stated it's hard to see the difference until you're standing right next to the truck. Chip Foose painted a set blue on Overhaulin!

Re: ?wood or black?

I think your K/10 may have been a Highlander. They were the exception to the rule:69/70 CST & 71/72 Cheyenne/CheyenneSuper only came with w/g.The Highlander was a specific option group offered at a discount(like today)in the latter part of`72 on the CustomDeluxes. These are the only other trucks that came with woodgrain lower belt moulding, but no tailgate band(still came with the lower trim at bottom of tailgate). There is no badging on these. All Highlanders came with parchment interiors, too.
