Re: Wreck Pics...

A little bit of that colored wax should take care of that.

Sad to see a solid truck go away....

Re: Wreck Pics...

ouch, that's one thing about old trucks.mass and steel are your best safety feature.bigger is better.remember a few years back insurance companies were thinking about raising rates on full size trucks and suv's..why? because they usually win.

Re: Wreck Pics...

doesnt look too bad , i dunno how the frame looks but it seems like you can just swap out the front sheetmetal and the radiator .
are you going to fix it or part it out ?

Re: Wreck Pics...

I'd have to say that judgeing by how far the bumper is pushed down and back, the frame is toast. The only thing I'd suggest keeping off a truck thats been hit like that is probably the bed, if its in good shape. Dang dude it sucks to see another good old pickup going to its last parking spot. Glad you weren't hurt.

Re: Wreck Pics...

I`d have to draw the line on paintless dent repair on this one. But,it looks repairable to me from the pics.

Re: Wreck Pics...

The frame is toast and if the other insurance company wasnt playing stupid games with me I would have taken it back but at this point I dont know if its worth it as I dont know how much I can get back and I need a driver more than a parts truck. There are still alot of good parts on it... but like I said.. I need a driver first.

I have an 82 front end I could put in it but the 82 frame is toasted also.. so I am not sure its worth it at this point. THanks guys..

Re: Wreck Pics...

After my son totaled his 80 and we got a settlement form the insurance company, our own insurance since it was a hit and run, we bought it back for $1000 since the parts were worth more than that.
Looks like you hit that pretty square, hope you and the other driver are ok.

Re: Wreck Pics...

I bought my 82 back from the insurance company for $300 about 5 yrs ago when I got rear ended by a telephone truck. I dont think it will be that easy with this one.

Re: Wreck Pics...

well keep in mind, they don't really want it, more work for them to send it to auction, easier to sell it back and avoid all the paper work.

Re: Wreck Pics...

A couple of years ago I hit a deer (while doing 85mph) and totaled my 93 SuperCoupe. I almost fell out of my chair when the insurance company asked me if I wanted to buy it back for $127. I sold the supercharger the next day for $400.

If you can get it back cheap enough it will be worth it for parts.

Re: Wreck Pics...

The way the girls car looks seems to me like she might have gotten hurt. Did she? If not she is lucky being she was hit on the driver side by one of our trucks. Hate to see another one of these trucks go down for the count.

She had a little scrap across the nose, but other than that seemed fine. She was a bit shaken up as it was her first wreck..
